President William Ruto, accompanied by First Lady Rachel Ruto, joined senior government officials, Members of Parliament, senators and international guests for the annual interdenominational gathering that has become a key event in Kenya’s leadership calendar. The prayer breakfast, hosted this year by the Senate under the rotational parliamentary arrangement, began early in the morning with worship sessions, scripture readings and speeches centered on healing divisions within the country and promoting peaceful coexistence ahead of the next election cycle. Speaking during the event, Senate Speaker Amason Kingi urged leaders to lower political temperatures and embrace dialogue for the sake of national stability. The event’s theme, “Forgiveness and Reconciliation,” reflected growing calls for calm and unity amid increasing political activity across the country.

President Ruto called on Kenyans and leaders alike to embrace understanding, mutual respect and servant leadership, saying the country’s future depends on unity and collective responsibility. The event also attracted high-profile members of the judiciary, including Supreme Court Judge Njoki Ndung'u, alongside Cabinet Secretaries, religious leaders and foreign dignitaries.Organizers noted that the annual prayer breakfast continues to provide a platform where leaders from different sectors can reflect on the nation’s direction while putting aside political differences in pursuit of peace and national cohesion. The National Prayer Breakfast, which has been held in Kenya for over two decades, traditionally brings together leaders from government, business, civil society and the religious community to pray for the country and discuss values-based leadership.
